Galveston Museums
Open daily, the Galveston County Historical Museum features permanent exhibits about Galveston lighthouses, Native Americans in Galveston County, Texas City port explosions and more. The museum also houses a number of temporary exhibits.
Through videos, equipment exhibits and interactive displays, visitors have the chance to learn about offshore drilling and production, environmental protection, marine transportation, construction and pipelining.
Visitors have the chance to see a four-story, 28,000-square-foot mansion built in 1895. The mansion houses a variety of temporary exhibits that display historical photographs, collectibles and memorabilia.

The Texas Seaport Museum is the site of the Tall Ship Elissa, a National Historic Landmark built in 1877. The museum tells the story of seaborne commerce and immigration through exhibits, films and artefacts.
